Natural Ways to Soften Hands
- Olive oil is nourishing and hydrating both inside and outside of the body. Not only can you use it in food, but also on skin and hair. To get exceptionally soft hands, make a mixture of sugar and olive oil. The sugar will remove dead skin cells and olive oil will moisturize. Add enough sugar to 3 or 4 teaspoons of olive oil so that it becomes a scrub. Gently rub it on your hands for approximately 1 minute. Wash off in water.
- A natural and nutrient-rich moisturizer is shea butter. Purchase raw shea butter without any added ingredients or chemicals. Shea Butter is also an ingredient in many anti-aging creams. When applied to hands, shea butter is an anti-wrinkle treatment to soften and smooth the skin.
- Cornstarch mixed with water is an affordable, natural way to soften hands. Fill a medium- to large-size bowl with warm water. Add 5 to 6 tablespoons of cornstarch and dissolve. Soak hands in the water for 5 minutes at a time. You can use daily without experiencing side effects.
- Instead of purchasing a pricey beauty cream, purchase any brand of vegetable shortening from the grocery store. This is an unconventional, but natural softener for hands. Slather the shortening on the hands at bedtime. Put on gloves and sleep with them on over night. The shortening will penetrate into the skin.
