How to Use PVC Pipes for Water Distribution Inside a Building
- 1). Mark the initial piece of CPVC pipe at the place where a second piece needs to be joined--this first piece of CPVC pipe is attached to the city water supply valve. Cut through the pipe at the mark with a pipe cutter.
- 2). Apply PVC primer to the cut end of the pipe, as well as the end of the second piece of pipe. Also prime the inside of a CPVC coupling. Wait 30 seconds for the primer to dry.
- 3). Apply PVC glue to both primed pipe ends, as well as the inside of the coupling. Push the pipe ends into each end of the coupling, and hold for 30 seconds for the glue to dry. Now measure, cut and install new pipe and couplings until you reach the water fixture.
